Padmabhushan – Awarded Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 1976. (Due to social service)
Established ‘Harijan Seva Sangh’ in Dungarpur.
He resigned from state service in 1942 during the Quit India Movement.
On 1 August 1944, ‘Bhogilal Pandya’, the President of Prajamandal, was made and General Secretary Shri Shivlal Kotadiya was made.
In 1946 Prajamandal started the movement. At the time, He was arrested along with 25 accomplices during the agitation, but was released after 15 days due to his fast.
He was then arrested on 30 May 1947 in Punwara for protesting against the state’s closure of the school, he was also assaulted, but had to be released again due to massive revolt by the Dungarpur public.
(Note – In this movement ‘Nanabhai Khant’ and 12-year-old Bhil girl ‘Kali Bai’, the school landlord of Rastapal village, lost their lives.)
On 25 March 1948, when Mewar was merged into United Rajasthan, Bhogilal Pandya was made the ‘Social Welfare Minister’.
In 1970 he was made the chairman of the ‘Rajasthan Khadi Village Industries Board’.
An institution called ‘Bagd Seva Mandir’ was established in Bhogilal Pandya, but this institution was banned by the princely state, when Pandya ji formed the ‘Seva Sangh’.
