Class 10th Science 12 Electricity Part 1

Class 10th Science 12 Electricity

Q. What is electric current?

Ans. If the electric charge flow through a conductor you say that there is an electric current in the conducto.

Q. what does a switch do?

A switch make a conducting link between the cell and the bulb.

Q. What is switch?

Switch is a conducting link between the battery and the machine.

Q. What is an electric circuit?

A continuous and closed path of an electric current is called an electric circuit.

Q. What happen if the switch off the torch is turn off?

If the switch off the torch is turn off then the current stop following.

Q. How do we Express electric current? Electric current is expressed by the amount of charge flowing through a particular area in unit time.

                          Or

Q. Electric current is defined as the  ordered motion of electric charges.

What is the direction of electric current in an electric circuit?

The direction of an electric current is taken as opposite to the direction of the flow of electrons, which are negative charges.

Charges

Charge is a fundamental property of a matter. It may be positive or negative.

Positive charge carry by protons.

Negative charge carry by electrons.

If any object gain the proton and lost the electron then they are called positively charged.

If any object gain the electrons and lost the protons then they are called negatively charged.

Charge is represented by(Q). And the SI unit of electric charge is coulomb(C).

Electric current

Electric current is calculate  the following formula                      current    =  charge/time

                                       I     =  Q / T

SI unit of electric current is ampere(A). Its name after the French scientists  Andre-Marie Ampere (1775-1836).

SI unit of time is second(s).

Charge of one column is nearly 6×1018  electrons.

Negative charge of an electron is     1.6 ×10-19 C.

Q. What do you mean by 1 ampere?

                         or

How we can express 1 ampere?

                         or

What is 1 ampere?

1 ampere is the constituented by the follow of 1 coulomb of charge per second.

1A    =     1C/1s

Q. What is ammeter?                                                                                    Ammeter is an instrument that measured the electric current in a circuit.

Q. How we connect ammeter in the circuit?

Ammeter is always connected in series in a circuit.

Small measurement of current

Milliampere           (1mA –  10-3  A)

Microampere          (1uA – 10-6A)

Q. In which direction electric flow in the circuit?

Electric current flows in the circuit from the positive terminal of the cell to the negative terminal of the cell.

Q. Draw a schematic  diagram of an electric circuit comparing – cell ,electric bulb ,ammeter and plug key.
