Excretion in Humans Class 10

Human Excretory Organs: One pair of kidneys, one ureter, one bladder, one urethra.

Position of the kidney:- The kidneys are located on either side of the reed bone in the abdomen.

Kidney —– Ureter —– Bladder —- Urethra

Purpose of Urine Formation: – To separate the waste substances in the blood by filtering them. (urea/uric acid)

Nephron:- The nephron are tubular cells.

The initial filtrate retains glucose, amino acids, salts and a considerable amount of water.

All substances except waste substances are reabsorbed.

The amount of water reabsorbed depends on the additional amount of water available in the body and the amount of waste material.

The bladder is muscular so it is under nervous control.
