Giuseppe Metsini
Giuseppe Metsini was born in Genoa in 1807 and became a member of the secret organization of the Carbonary. At the age of 24, he was ostracized for revolutionizing Liguria. He then established two more underground organizations. First- Young Italy in Marseille and Second- Young Europe in Bern. The members of which were like-minded youth in Poland, France, Italy and German states. Metsini believed that according to the will of God, the nation was the natural unit of humans. In the 1830s, Metsini presented a deliberate program for the Unified Italian Republic. Metsini fiercely opposed the monarchy and defeated the orthodox with his dream of democratic republics. Matternich described it as the most dangerous enemy of our social system.
