RISKS

 To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.

In this poem the poet says that we can not laugh everywhere because there is a risk to be appear like a foolish person. 




To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.

Poet also says that we can not cry and weep because we may seem as a very emotional person.

To reach out for another is to risk involvement.

According to the poet there is risk to be seems as an involver if we show our interest to help another person.

To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.




The poet says that we can not show and share our hidden and immoral feelings because there is a risk of coming out our reality.

 To place ideas and dreams before a crowed is to risk being called naïve.

According to the poet we should not talk about our ideas and dreams and desires in front of people because there is a risk being called a person lacking experience, knowledge.

To love is to risk not being loved in return.

The poet says that if we love to any person then there is risk of not being loved in return.

To live is to risk dying.

According to the poet when we live our life there is a risk of death.

To hope is to risk despair.

The poet says that if a person have hopes there is a risk of not fulfill the desires.

To try is to risk failure.

The poet tells us about the try that if anyone tries to does something there is a risk of becoming fail.

But risk must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

According to the poet everyone must take risk in their life because without risk life is nothing.

The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing and becomes nothing.




Poet says that the man who takes no risk in his life is an inactive and dull man. He gets nothing in his life, he does not make any progress in his life.

They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, live.

The poet says that a person can protect himself from pain and sadness but can’t learn anything and feels nothing in his life. He can’t change himself, never developed .he become unable to get love and live like a human being.

To chained by their certitude, they are slaves, they have for feited their freedom.

The poet says that people avoid risks and do nothing and satisfy themselves, thus they are restrained by their feeling of complete certainty. They live like slaves and lost their freedom.

Only a person who risks is truly free.

In the last line of the poem poet gives us a meaning of freedom. He says that infect only that person is free who takes risks in life.

To try is to risk failure.

But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

The person who risks nothing, does nothing,

 has nothing, and is nothing.

They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they

cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, live.

Chained by their certitudes, they are a slave: they have

 forfeited their freedom.

Only a person who risks is truly free.
